Joanna is a managing director and senior member of Cortland's Syndicated Loan Services business. Joanna is a leader in the bank loan markets and a highly regarded expert with successor agency assignments. Prior to joining Cortland, Joanna founded and managed the syndicated bank loan agency business for Gleacher & Co. from inception through its acquisition by Cortland in 2013. Before launching the bank loan agency initiative for Gleacher, Joanna was a special situations analyst for Van Kampen Investments where she served on numerous lender steering committees and focused on distressed situations. Previously, she worked for a turnaround and crisis management firm and prior to that she spent several years at a large financial institution in the Managed Assets Department, working on loan workouts and restructurings. Joanna holds a degree in Finance from Indiana University.
John has 30+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit risk, troubled asset management, and corporate financial and strategic planning within the financial services industry. For the past 10 years John held various senior management positions focusing on the strategic resolution of troubled asset portfolio’s, including those requiring servicing under an FDIC Shared Loss Program, most recently at Talmer Bank and Trust and BMO Harris Bank. Previous experience includes middle market C&I and commercial real estate lending at community and regional banking institutions and has held the positions of Director of Economic Evaluation and Vice President, Corporate Planning and Development at Bankers Life and Casualty. John is a member of NAGGL and is widely respected and recognized as an authority on commercial real estate litigation and resolution strategies. John earned his MBA and BBA in Finance and Economics at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater.
Stephanie is a managing director responsible for enterprise-wide sales & business development for Cortland. Based in New York, Stephanie has over 20 years experience covering institutional investors, alternative fund managers, structured finance operators, family offices, private equity firms, real estate and commercial finance companies. Before joining Cortland, Stephanie held senior relationship management positions at ABN AMRO, Citibank, Chase and Merrill Lynch and most recently was a founder and head of sales at Leebug, an internet/technology services company. She holds a BS in Finance from NYU.
Russell M. Goldenberg
Russ is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. A member of NAGGL, Russ has extensive experience working with the SBA and other government guaranteed loan programs. Prior to Cortland, in 1993 Russ co-founded and led LaSalle Bank’s securitization trust business. During his tenure, the business was recognized as the most active commercial mortgage-backed securities trustee for 12 consecutive years. Russ also served as founding President of LaSalle National Trust Delaware. Russ’ technical skills were cultivated early in his career when he served as Vice President of Analytics at Security Pacific Bank and as an Information Technology Consultant for Deloitte Haskins & Sells in Los Angeles, California. Russell holds a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Claremont Graduate School.
Daniel T. Hart
Dan is a managing director and Head of Sales & Business Development for Cortland Fund Services LLC. Dan has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry, having held senior management positions with firms such as Kemper Securities, Fiserv Securities, and ABN AMRO. Prior to Cortland, Dan was a founding member of IFA USA LLC, a fund administration company. This background allows him to thoroughly understand the complex issues facing today’s fund executives and integrate the solutions that Cortland Fund Services provides to our clients. He holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and FINRA Series-7, 24, 27, 63 and 79.
Douglas W. Hart
Doug is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Doug has brought innovative and reliable solutions to investment managers and commercial lenders for 20+ years. Prior to forming Cortland, Doug was the architect of ABN AMRO LaSalle Bank’s successful Collateralized Debt Obligation Trust Services group, as well as their Global Fund Administration platform. Before joining LaSalle in 1995, Doug was an officer at Bankers Trust Company where he co-founded the commercial real estate servicing business to serve the commercial mortgage-backed securities marketplace. Doug graduated from UCLA with a BA degree in Economics.
Fei Ho is director of Technology for Cortland Capital Market Services. Fei and his team are responsible for expanding and maintaining the company’s software engineering, infrastructure and communication platforms. Fei has over 15 years of information technology experience directly applied to the financial capital markets. His experience includes specialization in areas such as structured finance modeling, trade capture & processing, cash management, SWIFT, securities analytics, custody data management and reconciliation. Fei’s advanced knowledge of current trends in technology and data security has brought him to the forefront of design, development, and implementation of complex financial software applications and process technology solutions. Prior to joining Cortland , Fei held technology management positions with Bank of America and LaSalle Bank in Tustin, California. Fei graduated with a Master degree in Computer Science from Illinois Technology of Technology.
M. Timothy Houghton, CFA
Tim is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Tim has over 20 years experience in structured finance, most recently as a Senior Vice President at ABN AMRO's LaSalle Global Securities and Trust Services with responsibility for the group’s London CDO office from 2005 to 2008. At LaSalle, Tim served as global co-head of business development and led product development efforts for trust and fiduciary services for the CLO and broader leveraged loan marketplace. Previously, Tim worked with Nomura Securities International and Capital Company of America, LLC in roles supporting the issuing, trading and risk management of commercial mortgage-backed securities, as well as Bankers Trust Company as trustee for mortgage-backed securities. Tim is a CFA charterholder and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
G. John Mautz
John is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. John brings over two decades of leadership in mortgage-backed securities, investor analytics, financial modeling and tax administration to the Company. Over his career John has overseen the development of over 2000 CMBS and RMBS structures. Prior to joining Cortland CMS, John was a founding principal and managing head of the Analytics and Investor Services group at LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services business unit. Serving on key sub-committees related to standardization of data, John is a longstanding member of the CMSA (Commercial Mortgage Securities Association). John managed the MBS analytics team for Security Pacific Bank that provided fiduciary trust, paying agent, investor reporting, financial modeling and REMIC tax agent services to the capital markets before joining LaSalle in 1994. John graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Jessica J. Mead
Jessica J. Mead is General Counsel for Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Jessica has been a practicing attorney since 2003. Prior to joining Cortland CMS, she was responsible for managing the document review and closing process for Collateralized Debt Obligation transactions within LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services group. Before her work at LaSalle, Jessica focused her practice in consumer and securities class action litigation. Jessica graduated cum laude from Coe College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Political Science and earned her J.D. with honors from Drake University Law School. Jessica is a member of the Illinois Bar.
Greg is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Greg oversees business management for Cortland's fund administraiton group. An experienced financial executive, Greg brings over 15 years of broad-based financial services expertise to Cortland. Prior to joining Cortland CMS, Greg managed the Specialty Bank Loans team within LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services group. Greg’s initial service in the financial sector includes experience working as an Equity Options Market Maker at the Chicago Board of Options Exchange, as well as a financial analyst and Y2K consultant with other financial institutions. Greg graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in French.
Darren is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC responsible for architecting and implementing analytical and technology client solutions. Applying the last 15 years of his career focused on credit and private equity funds, collateralized loan obligations (CLO), and asset-backed securities (ABS), Darren is a highly accomplished leader in the alternative and structured finance markets. Before joining Cortland, Darren headed analytics and technology for ABN AMRO’s LaSalle Bank Global CDO and CLO securitization trust unit. Over the course of his career Darren has overseen the modeling and reporting of payment distributions and portfolio compliance for over 400 CLO, CDO, and CRE-CDO structures in the U.S. and Europe. Darren graduated from California State University at Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
Lora J. Peloquin
Lora is a managing director of Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Lora oversees enterprise business development for Cortland. Lora brings over 20 years of trust and securitized product experience to the Cortland CMS team. She began her career within State Street Bank’s commercial mortgage-backed securities group. Prior to Cortland CMS, Lora was in charge of new business development of LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services suite of Collateralized Debt Obligation products. Under Lora’s tenure, LaSalle was repeatedly ranked as a leading Global CDO Trustee and topped the league tables in 2007. Lora graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Keene with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine.
Suzanne M. Smith
Suzanne is a managing director for Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Suzanne brings over 15 years experience in bank loan operations and client servicing to the Company. She began her career at ABN AMRO in 1993 where she supervised commercial loan operations and ultimately headed their Agency Services Department. Most recently, Suzanne managed the Bank Loan Products team within LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services CDO group. Suzanne graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business.
John Stanfield, CPA
John is the Director of Financial Statement and Audit Review for Cortland Fund Services. Among other duties, John is responsible for reviewing accounting standards for new fund setup, reviewing fund financial statements and footnotes, and providing fund clients assistance with their annual audits. John is a well rounded accounting professional with several years of financial statement audit and tax preparation experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Cortland, John worked several years in public accounting at Ernst & Young focusing on partnership accounting for complex investment funds and financing structures. John completed his Bachelors Degree at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and holds a Masters Degree in Accountancy from DePaul University. John is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois State CPA Society.
Koren Sumser is director of Risk Management and Quality Assurance for Cortland Capital Market Services. Kori has over 15 years of experience in the global capital markets focusing on financial operations and risk management. Over the majority her professional career, Kori has specialized in complex investment funds, trust and securitized products. Prior to joining Cortland, she was responsible for Transaction Closings and Quality Assurance for Collateralized Debt Obligations, Custody and Warehouse transactions within LaSalle Bank’s Global Securities and Trust Services Group. Koren graduated from DePaul University, Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Kevin Williams, CFA
Kevin is the Chief Financial Officer for Cortland Capital Market Services LLC. Kevin is responsible for Cortland’s financial reporting and capital activities and focuses on strategic initiatives for the company. He has extensive experience in finance and accounting and works with Cortland clients in the private equity and real estate space. Prior to Cortland, he worked at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey analyzing and disposing of distressed assets backed by mortgages, corporate credit, and derivatives. Kevin is a CFA charterholder and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Stuart Wood, CPA
Stuart is the Director of Fund Administration at Cortland and has worked in the accounting industry for over ten years. Stuart is responsible for managing Cortland’s fund accounting professionals. Previously he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor before spending several years working in fund administration with Citadel Solutions/Omnium/Northern Trust where Stuart managed the fund close process. Through years of hands-on fund administration experience, Stuart has strong knowledge of applied accounting for hedge funds and private equity funds. In addition to daily fund accounting, Stuart has managed complex accounting transitions for investment managers of all sizes, including the conversion of a $10b hedge fund/private equity client. Stuart graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Accounting degree. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois.
